Severn Bore

A large bore had been forecast: 5-star, the highest category bore at the informative Severn Bore website. Combined with beautiful sunshine and it being a fairly late morning tide on a Saturday, I figured it would be a busy one, but our very own team rider Cheesy had the whole wave to him self, and managed his own personal record of 6.5 miles!!

Cheesy, who lives local to the Bore said “I regularly ride the bore, I first did it over 20 years ago, and the Eclipse is the best boat I have ever used on it. Sitting waiting for the Bore is a magic feeling, hearing it ‘Roaring’ in the distance, then watching it bare down on you… Its a natural phenomenon… Then the bore arrives, and the river changes, it is an amazing natural spectacle.
